In Shamanic culture, shamans use this to go deep into their unconscious minds to receive the important information that can help to heal the people they are treating.

Lucid dreaming can help us to see ourselves with unlimited potential in the fields of possibilities.

How to Lucid Dream

There are many techniques that you can use to lucid dreaming. You can also combine a few techniques to speed up the process.

1. Start With an Intention to Remember the Dream

Our intentions are very powerful. If we truly want something, our mind will start to work on that.

Before you fall asleep, keep repeating the following phrase in your mind.

“Tonight, I am gonna remember my dreams.”

While repeating you should have a pure intention with determination so that your mind can take it seriously.

If you wish you can create your own affirmation.

2. Dream Journal

Most of us have daily dreams. But when we wake up in the morning we start to forget those dreams.

So keep a dream journal with you. And whenever you wake in the morning, you can write your dreams. When we wake up in the morning we are a little unconscious so we can remember the dreams but once we fully wake up, we start to lose our dreams.

You can use any notebook to write your dreams or you can buy a dream journal.

Once you keep repeating the affirmation before sleep and keep writing the dreams in the morning for a few days, you will become good at remembering the dreams.

3. Mantras

This step is the same as step one. By following step 1 and step 2 for a few weeks, once you are good at remembering the dreams then you can make slight changes in the affirmations you are repeating before sleep.

When you go to sleep you can repeat the following mantras in your mind. it will tell your intention to your deeper mind. When you repeat a mantra over and over again with a pure intention and focus, your mind will treat it as something very important.

Mantras can be like:

“I will lucid dream tonight.”

“I am dreaming.”

“I will wake up in a dream tonight.”

“Soon I will be dreaming.”

“I will have lucid dreams tonight.”

“I want to be fully conscious during my dreams tonight. ”

You can repeat any of them or a combination of them. If you wish you can create your own mantras.

4. Creating an Anchor

The famous technique for this is pushing the middle finger of your right hand against the palm of your left hand with a question.

During your day, when you get some time, ask yourself one question: “Am I dreaming?”  and press your right hand’s middle finger against the palm of your left arm.

During your day your finger will not penetrate the palm of your left hand. But when you do this during lucid dreaming, it will go through the palm of your left arm, and you will be confirmed that you are in a dream.

There are many other techniques to create an anchor. if you don’t like this you can explore others.

5. Wake Back to Sleep

Lucid dreaming usually happens during REM (Rapid eye movement) sleep, spending more time in this stage will increase the chances of lucid dreaming.

Set an alarm for the 2 hours before your actual waking time. If you wake up at 5 AM, Set the alarm for 3 AM.

When you wake up at 3 AM, stay awake for some time and then go back to sleep with the intention to have lucid dreams.

Or when you go back to sleep you can just repeat in your mind:

“I will wake up in my dream. I will remember my dream.”
